Dear John,
Our hard-won civil rights protections and racial equity initiatives are being systematically dismantled. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs nationwide in major corporations and institutions are under unprecedented attack.
Neo-segregationist leaders are actively working to roll back decades of progress while receiving funding from prominent corporate charitable funds. At the forefront of this movement are figures like Stephen Miller, now appointed as White House Deputy Chief of Staff; Kris Kobach, the sitting Attorney General of Kansas; Christopher Rufo, who has transformed New College of Florida into a platform for advancing neo-segregationist ideologies and Ed Blum the architect of the neo-segregationist movement.
It is unacceptable to fund leaders and organizations promoting discrimination that restricts Black people's access to the workplace and education system and seeks to restore Jim Crow-era privileges for white people.
Despite publicly supporting DEI initiatives, Goldman Sachs continues to allow their Charitable Fund to finance organizations that undermine racial equity. Even after our May 2024 meeting with their leadership, the funding continues to flow to these dangerous causes.

The funding of neo-segregationist groups has real-life consequences. One Recipient of Goldman Sachs Charitable Fund Donations, the American Accountability Foundation launched deiwatchlist.com, a website targeting Black federal workers.
In a statement with The Guardian, an anonymous Black federal worker described the impact, “It’s really scary, I think its a way to continue to sow that fear, that angst, in the culture of a lot of these agencies,”
This is not just rhetoric—these groups are actively attacking Black workers, dismantling DEI initiatives, and erasing decades of civil rights progress.
As long as their Charitable Gift Fund flows dollars into the pockets of neo-segregationists they will have the resources to continue the dangerous and extreme efforts to target inclusive initiatives, roll back progressive legislation, and undo the vital work and legacy of the Civil Rights Movement. However, by pressuring these funders, we can take action against this.
