Governor DeWine Appoints Fowler to
Delaware Municipal Court

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine today announced the appointment of Mark Fowler to the Delaware Municipal Court.   

Fowler, of Delaware, will assume office on March 25, 2025, and will be taking the seat formerly held by Judge Marianne Hemmeter, whom Governor DeWine appointed [ [link removed] ] to the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas, General Division. Fowler will serve the remainder of the unfinished term and will need to run for election in November 2025 to retain the seat. 

Fowler began his law career in 2007 as an assistant attorney general at the Ohio Attorney General's Office, serving as legal counsel to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) and the Ohio Commission on Minority Health. From April to October 2011, he served as a senior staff attorney at ODJFS. Since 2011, Fowler has served as an assistant prosecuting attorney for the Delaware County Prosecutor's Office.

In 2001, Fowler received a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Akron. He received his juris doctorate from Cleveland State University Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 2006.

Fowler is a member of the Delaware County Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, and a fellow at the Ohio State Bar Foundation. 

Within his community, Fowler is involved with Main Street Delaware, Knights of Columbus Council 1056, and St. Mary Parish. He also serves as a legal advisor for the Buckeye Valley High School Mock Trial Team and volunteers with the Delaware County Special Olympics and the Common Ground Free Store.
