John, I believe every Pennsylvanian deserves the freedom to chart their own course and the opportunity to succeed. But in order to expand those opportunities to every community across the Commonwealth, we have to make Pennsylvania more competitive.

That’s why I have an aggressive plan to cut taxes and lower costs — and I’m ready to work with anyone to get it done.

I’ll explain more, but first: If you believe in a government that focuses on the real needs of Pennsylvanians — and not petty partisanship — will you chip in to help me pass my new budget into law and keep fighting for real freedom and real opportunity?

For nearly my entire term as Governor, I’ve worked with a divided legislature. Republicans are in control of the Pennsylvania State Senate, while Democrats hold the majority in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

Look, navigating this divide hasn’t always been easy, John. But I understand that the needs of Pennsylvania families are far too important to be distracted by partisan bickering.

By putting partisanship aside and finding common ground, we’ve given 520,000 Pennsylvania seniors $320 million in tax cuts. Our families have $136 million back in their pockets because we made childcare more affordable. And we’ve cut the cost of prescription drugs by signing bipartisan pharmacy benefit manager reforms into law.

By lowering costs, cutting taxes, and creating good-paying jobs, we’ve turned Pennsylvania into a national leader in getting stuff done, John.

On the other hand, what we’ve seen from Washington lately is the exact opposite of progress. Extreme politicians are trying to raise the cost of prescription drugs, threaten seniors’ Social Security payments, and jack up the cost of living as a whole.

As Governor, it’s my job to ensure every Pennsylvanian has access to real freedom and real opportunity — and I won’t let any distractions get in the way of that fundamental responsibility.

Before you go, I hope you’ll consider chipping in to help me pass my new, commonsense budget into law. We both know that there will be a lot of big fights ahead of us, and I’d be grateful to have you by my side as we take them on.
