Hi there,
I’ve always been a problem solver. I got into public service over 30 years ago with the mission of fixing our infrastructure, protecting our environment, cutting costs, and keeping our streets safe.
In my three decades of public service, my mission has stayed the same and my philosophy has always been simple: I’ll work with anyone, of any party, who genuinely wants to make things better for people, but I’ll never sacrifice my values.
Today, there are two types of problems facing our country.
There are kitchen table issues that so many Americans are facing. Prices are way too high, the border is still a mess, and many Americans are still unsafe from crime and gun violence. Solving these problems requires bipartisan support, and real effort from lawmakers to find common ground, using common sense, for the common good.
But there is also increasing concern that our Constitution is under threat, and that key programs- like Social Security and Medicare- are in danger. In these cases, we have to fight back. When Elon Musk and DOGE gained access to sensitive taxpayer data, I used the platform of the Ways and Means Committee to question witnesses to make the point that Musk and his barely college-aged team have not been properly vetted. I fought to make sure Great Neck / Manhasset Head Start and Cold Spring Harbor labs didn’t lose essential funding. And I’ll continue to speak out against destructive policies and Constitutional overreach whenever I see it.
In short, I’ll both continue to work across the aisle to solve kitchen table problems whenever I can, but I’ll fight back forcefully when my constituents are negatively affected or when the Constitution is undermined. That’s what you elected me to do.
Team, one thing is for sure, we can’t give up or let cynicism win. We have to stay engaged.
That’s why I’m asking you a favor–my team is already hard at work building out my campaign for 2026. It will be a tough race, and I’ll need your help to win. I know it’s early, but can you chip in $25 to my reelection campaign to help me get off to a strong start?
Thank you,
Tom Suozzi
