Elon Musk’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is trying to gain access to sensitive taxpayer information at the IRS. That means Trump’s billionaire ally and his team of 20-year-olds — who have no government accountability — want access to your tax returns, Social Security numbers, and bank account information.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: No one elected Elon Musk. He has no right to dig through private taxpayer data. But that’s exactly what Trump’s administration is trying to let him do.

Meanwhile, grocery prices are still too high, wages aren’t keeping up, and working families are struggling to afford basic necessities. Instead of tackling inflation or lifting up middle-class Americans, Trump and his cronies are focused on consolidating power and gutting essential institutions for their own gain.
