D.C. war hawks want the American people to see the Middle East as a monolith; a conglomerate of Iran-supporting terrorist sympathizers hellbent on ushering in the destruction of the West. If the public thinks that, permanent Washington will be able to get away with whatever interventionism it wants.
The problem is it isn’t true. Many Middle Eastern nations have even more of a reason to oppose Iran than the U.S. and want long-lasting peace as badly as anyone.
Qatar is an example. If you believe its leaders are in bed with the Ayatollah, think again.
