Dear Email, This week, the film No Other Land by Palestinian director, Basel Adra won an Oscar for best foreign documentary film. His historic acceptance speech highlighted Israel's systematic ethnic cleansing of Palestinians and was met with roaring applause from an audience of Hollywood A-listers.  This signifies a major narrative shift that's taking place in the US, especially in Zionist-dominated Hollywood. One that is slowly moving away from defining Palestinians through an orientalist, terror framing into one about their plight and the just struggle against Israel's apartheid system. We are witnessing a historic shift—support for Palestine in the United States has never been higher. Basel Adra's film and its narrative are supported by the incredible grassroots movements taking place across the U.S. that are correcting the mainstream dominant narrative on Palestine. Across the country, millions of people—including students, activists, faith leaders, and everyday Americans—are standing up and demanding an end to U.S. complicity in Israel’s crimes against the Palestinian people. American Muslims for Palestine is at the forefront of this movement, taking the fight for Palestinian rights to new heights. In 2024 alone, we: - Led Nationwide Rallies – Organized massive protests across the country, including the historic January 13th demonstration, where over 400,000 people gathered in Washington, D.C., demanding justice for Palestine.
- Led BDS Campaigns – Launched and expanded boycott efforts, from our annual Date Boycott Campaign to high-profile corporate targets like Starbucks, McDonald’s, and Puma. To sustain this momentum, we created BoycottGuide.org, empowering Americans to take effective action.
- Expanded Grassroots Network – Strengthened our grassroots base with 16 active chapters nationwide, organizing local events, protests, and educational initiatives to amplify the call for Palestinian justice.
- Supported Student Advocacy – Stood in solidarity with student-led activism, mobilizing community support and directly engaging with students through campus events, workshops, and public speaking to strengthen their advocacy efforts.
