Dear John,
By this time next week, President Trump will have been in office for 50 days. In this short amount of time, his administration has started mass deportations, attempted to revoke birthright citizenship, and rolled back critical protections for immigrants. It's chaos by design.
Now more than ever, sustained giving is one of the best ways to stand with immigrants.
Will you consider giving monthly and help us reach our 100 new Sustainers goal before Trump’s 50th day in office?
Here are 3 reasons to become a Sustainer for the American Immigration Council:
1. Providing Resources to Defend Immigrants: Immigrants facing detention and deportation often have no legal representation. We work with volunteer attorneys and interpreters, training them to defend the most vulnerable. As Trump ramps up enforcement, the need for these critical legal services will only grow.
2. Fighting Back in Court: During Trump’s first term, we held his administration accountable. We exposed the horrors of family separation, challenged asylum turnbacks, and stopped ICE from detaining immigrant youth. Our legal team is preparing to challenge him again, but we need steady support to keep up the fight.
3. Building Inclusive Communities: We work with state and local governments, advocates, and business leaders to build more welcoming communities from the ground up. Your monthly gift will help us provide over 100 communities across 40 states with the tools they need to create a more welcoming environment for all their residents.
A one-time gift is helpful, but your monthly donation gives us the stability we need to respond to emergencies, plan long-term strategies, and keep fighting—no matter what comes next.
Sincerely,
Rich André
