In case you missed it, a WIRED article published this week broke the news that some DOGE staffers are being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars by taxpayers from the very agencies they have been tasked with cutting.
WIRED notes when Elon Musk started recruiting for DOGE in November, he described the work as “tedious” and noted that “compensation is zero.”
Although Musk also described DOGE as "maximum transparent," it has not made its spending or salary ranges publicly available, despite its funding ballooning to about $40 million as of February 20th according to a recent ProPublica report.
