John,
Did you know that the majority of members of Congress are millionaires?[1]
In the House Ways and Means Committee―the committee responsible for crafting tax law―the average Republican member is worth $15 million. According to our latest report, the families of the richest 6 GOP members of the committee could pocket a combined $24.6 million in tax breaks if they’re able to pass legislation extending the Trump-GOP tax scam.
Our research is critical to shedding light on how this tax scam isn’t just for Trump’s billionaire buddies; it’ll personally benefit the very members of Congress crafting the bill.
Rush a donation today to bring this research to voters across the country and rally grassroots pressure demanding Congress reject their $4.5 trillion tax scam mostly for the rich―paid for by cutting healthcare, nutrition, public education, and much, much more.

[1] Majority of lawmakers in 116th Congress are millionaires
-- David's email --
John,
A handful of multimillionaire Republicans in Congress are rewriting tax laws that could personally make them millions. If their plan succeeds, they and their wealthy donors will walk away with staggering tax cuts, while the rest of us are left with higher deficits, gutted public services, and an even more rigged economy.
Our new report has laid bare just how corrupt and self-serving this scheme is. The Republicans in charge of tax policy are worth an average of $15 million apiece.[1] The families of the wealthiest six among them could personally pocket up to $24.6 million in tax breaks if they succeed in extending Trump’s corporate giveaway tax law.
This isn’t just bad policy, it’s a heist. The 2017 Trump-GOP tax cuts they want to make permanent added trillions to the national debt―threatening funding for vital services like healthcare, education, and housing―while slashing taxes for billionaires and major corporations.
Now, with key provisions of the tax scam set to expire, these same Republicans are trying to lock in their windfall tax breaks forever while shifting the cost onto working families.
We are exposing this corruption, mobilizing against it, and fighting for a tax system that works for everyone, not just the wealthy few. But we need your support to keep up the fight. Donate today to stop this Republican tax scam before it’s too late.
Republicans are hoping to ram through their tax plan under the guise of middle class tax relief, but let's be clear about what’s happening:
-
Of the 26 Republicans on the House Ways and Means Committee—the body that writes tax law—over two-thirds are worth more than $1 million.
-
Nine of them have a net worth over $10 million. The vice-chair alone is worth nearly a quarter-billion dollars.
-
They are giving themselves tax breaks while taking services away from the rest of us. If their plan succeeds, the wealthiest six members of the committee will personally collect $1.8 million a year in income tax breaks—and when they pass down their massive fortunes, their heirs could dodge $22.8 million in estate taxes.
This is systemic corruption in plain sight and if we don’t fight back, they will get away with it.
Americans for Tax Fairness Action Fund is leading the charge to stop this self-enrichment scheme before it becomes law. We’re exposing this scandal in the media, mobilizing grassroots pressure, and making sure the American people know exactly how much is at stake.
We need your help to power this fight, spread the truth, and hold these millionaire lawmakers accountable. Make a donation now to fight back against this shameless tax heist before it’s too late.
