Dear SPUC supporter
I am writing to you this afternoon about something a little different than usual. In the past 24 hours, SPUC has come under sustained attack from people determined to see us cowed into silence.
They are working (as they have been for years) to:
* Prevent SPUC from going into schools to deliver our life-affirming presentations
* Overwhelm the ARCH ([link removed]) helpline, and so prevent men and women from accessing the post-abortive help they need
* Conceal the suffering that abortion can often bring, from wider society.
I am not exaggerating when I tell you that the ARCH helpline has been receiving a malicious call, every other minute, since first thing this morning. Not only is this clogging up the helpline and so preventing people in need of real help from getting through, but it is a burden that the volunteers who give up their own time in the evenings, should not have to deal with. And my duty of care, as Chief Executive, extends to our many volunteers, as well as staff.
Not content with all of the above, however, they also saw fit to share the address of SPUC's Glasgow office, with ill intent, in a public video, prompting one individual to reply the below:
Another reply (below), which garnered significant engagement, sought to recruit people to flood the ARCH helpline with bogus calls. As I mentioned, unfortunately they were successful!
Rest assured, we will not be deterred, and we will continue to be a loud and ever-present voice for our unborn neighbour, and for men and women affected by abortion. But we need your help - the stakes have never been higher - please consider supporting our work today.

With deepest gratitude,
John Deighan
Chief Executive
