Tomorrow night, we close the books on our May end-of-month fundraising. We’re still just short of our goal, so we wanted to reach out one last time and explain why hitting this mark is so important.
This week, our far-right opponent began ratcheting up his attacks against Mike. The timing here is not coincidental either. This comes right on the heels of the Republicans’ win in CA-25, and just as Donald Trump and Darrell Issa seek to suppress voter turnout in California by blocking Vote-By-Mail expansion in our state.
Trump and his GOP allies are making a major play for Mike’s seat. It’s important that we send a message about our grassroots strength in response. That’s why this deadline is so important:
Mike has been hard at work for the 49th. In the last week alone he’s secured $12 million to stabilize eroding coastal bluffs in Del Mar. He also helped pass legislation that would deliver more than $100 billion for hospitals and coronavirus testing during this pandemic.
But remember: Our opponent also has a history of self-funding his previous campaigns. We know it is his intention to drown out the good work Mike is doing by unleashing massive sums on television attack ads.
