City of Ann Arbor Update: Registration Opens March 17 for Blaze & Blue Career Summer Camp for Young Women

Learn More button - blue The Ann Arbor Fire and Police departments Blaze & Blue Career Camp is returning for its fourth year this summer for local young women ages 15–18 years old! Participation is FREE, and registration starts Monday, March 17. Led by women in Ann Arbor’s first-responder roles, Blaze & Blue is geared for young women also interested in pursuing first-responder careers. Participants get hands-on experience with the most challenging and exciting tasks in firefighting, first response and law enforcement. The interactive, five-day camp takes place in July.

Learn More button - blue All are invited to a free event to celebrate and screen the new documentary, “Beyond the Bridge,” at the Michigan Theatre (603 E. Liberty St.) Tuesday, March 11, at 6 p.m. Free tickets are available to reserve online now. The documentary examines root causes of homelessness and explores comprehensive solutions. A one-hour panel discussion will follow the screening featuring one of the film’s directors, Don Sawyer, local representatives and moderated by University of Michigan School of Social Work Dean Beth Angell and City of Ann Arbor Mayor Christopher Taylor.
