March for Life 2025 đź’™

Bank Holiday Monday, 5th May @2pm

If you don’t have the date in your diary already, PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF IT TODAY!

This year’s March for Life has an added importance as the new government begins to take hold. The significant increase in the number of pro-life TDs and Senators elected recently creates a big opportunity for the pro-life movement - one that we need to embrace wholeheartedly.

The hard work is paying off and starting to show results but we have to keep pushing forward.

Bank Holiday Monday (5th May) is our chance to unite with our pro-life Oireachtas members and send a very clear message to the Government that we expect to see urgent action taken to address Ireland’s skyrocketing abortion numbers. The appalling situation at present of women being kept in the dark about positive alternatives prior to an abortion, has to end.

It will only end however if enough pressure mounts. Change happens when people show up!

On Bank Holiday Monday (5th May), we are counting on you to make an extra special effort to be present.

We can’t wait to see you there!

Student midwife suspended in Scotland for simply expressing pro-life views

A student midwife who was put on special leave from her placement for simply posting pro-life views on social media says she worried that as a result of the fitness to practice investigation her career would be over before it had even begun.

Sara Spencer, 30, endured a fitness to practice investigation for the sincere and non-aggressive posts she made about her personal pro-life beliefs and the need for proper freedom of conscience protections for healthcare workers. She has since been cleared of any wrongdoing and is free to continue her studies. NHS Fife initially refused to readmit her to the midwifery course but she was

eventually accepted back and placed with the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, Scotland.

The legal support group Alliance Defending Freedom backed Ms Spencer during the investigation. Commenting on her case, Jeremiah Igunnubole, Legal Counsel for ADF UK, said that “Sara’s career has been negatively impacted by a cultural prejudice against people with pro-life opinions – present both at her university, and in her workplace,” adding that “true diversity of thought” is absent from many universities, and that Spencer’s story “points to a need for legislation which reaffirms freedom of speech in these learning environments….”

** Coercive abortion experience: “I march for the baby I aborted 21 years ago”

No woman deserves to be forced into ending the life of her own child, and no child deserves

to die because the timing of their conception was inconvenient.

** Loss of a pro-life champion
------------------------------------------------------------

The pro-life community was saddened this week to hear about the death of Martin McGuill ([link removed]) who was Chairperson of Louth Pro Life Network. Martin was a tireless advocate for the unborn who spent many hours working at a grassroots level to change hearts and minds in his community. His dedication to various pro-life organisations in striving for an Ireland that upholds the dignity of every human life was truly admirable. We offer our condolences to his wife Barbara and their family.

May he rest in peace.
