HUD Extends Foreclosure Relief

HUD Secretary Scott Turner has announced a 90-day extension of the foreclosure moratorium for FHA-insured single family mortgages in Los Angeles County areas affected by the January 2025 wildfires. Originally set to expire on April 8, 2025, the moratorium now extends through July 7, 2025, giving impacted homeowners more time to recover.

For mortgage assistance, borrowers should contact their mortgage servicer or the FHA Resource Center at (800) CALL-FHA. HUD-certified housing counselors are also available to provide guidance. For more details, visit HUD’s website [ [link removed]. ].

 

CalFresh Deadline is Today

CalFresh households affected by the fires and power outages have until today, March 6, to request a replacement for their lost benefits. To apply, complete a CF 303 Replacement or Disaster Supplemental Affidavit and submit it using one of the following methods:

✅ By Phone: Call the Customer Service Center at (866) 613-3777
✅ Online: Submit through BenefitsCal.com

Upcoming Deadlines
Apply For Federal Assistance Before Monday, March 10

Homeowners, renters and businesses impacted by the wildfires have less than one week to apply for federal disaster assistance. *Monday, March 10* is the deadline to apply for both FEMA disaster assistance [ [link removed] ] and a U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) low-interest disaster loan [ [link removed] ].

Financial Help Through the LA County Household Relief Grant

If your home was affected by the Eaton and Palisades fires or recent windstorms, you may qualify for immediate financial assistance through the LA County Household Relief Grant. This program provides essential support to impacted households for unmet needs not covered by other forms of assistance.

Apply for Small Business and Worker Relief Funds

Small businesses and nonprofits impacted by the recent wind and wildfire disaster are eligible to apply for the *LA Region Small Business and Worker Relief Funds before the deadline on Wednesday, March 12*.


* *Small Business Relief Fund:* Offers cash assistance grants up to $25,000 for small businesses and nonprofits that suffered structural damage, equipment or inventory loss, or revenue loss due to the disaster.
* *Worker Relief Fund:* Provides cash assistance grants up to $2,000 for workers who lost employment or income because of the disaster.

If you have opted in and would like the status of Phase 2 debris removal, use this tool [ [link removed] ] to search your address and monitor real-time updates on your submission.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has completed debris removal on the first residential property to undergo Phase 2 cleanup operations. Read more here [ [link removed] ]. 

For those opting into the government-sponsored debris removal program, the online Right of Entry form is available here [ [link removed] ]. Public Health Town Hall 

Join the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and partners for a virtual town hall on "_Thursday, March 6 at 6 p.m._" The town hall will cover post-fire air, soil, and water assessment plan addressing air quality, soil and water testing, plus next steps.

Free Medical and Mental Health Clinic in Pasadena

The Eaton Health Village, in partnership with the Department of Mental Health, is providing free medical and mental health care every Monday and Wednesday from 12 PM to 5 PM at the Pasadena Seventh-Day Adventist Church (1280 E. Washington Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91104).
