A series of political earthquakes seem to be coming every day,
especially since Zelenskyy’s ill-fated meeting with President Trump
and Vice President J.D. Vance, where Trump had said flatly to the
Ukrainian dictator, “You are gambling with World War III.”
Since that meeting, President Trump has canceled all military aid
to Ukraine, a decision which has panicked the trans-Atlantic
establishment in Europe who are dead set against any kind of peace
talks with Russia, and are now doubling down on militarizing their
countries. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has
called for €800 billion to “rearm Europe,” which cannot possibly work
given the fragile budgets of the European economies.
A shattering of the old order—based on Unipolar dominance, endless
wars, and sanctions—is clearly coming to an end. However, those that
are in most panic are the British imperial elites, who have been the
leading actors in manipulating great powers to fight each other since
the untimely death of President Franklin Roosevelt.
The conservative British imperialist David Starkey, known for his
racist, pro-colonialist views, revealed his view of the
Trump/Zelenskyy dust-up in a recent interview given on March 2nd.
Starkey said, “The world in which we thought we lived, in which
most of my lifetime we’ve lived, which is a world of the so-called
‘Rules-Based International System’—RUBIS—has shattered…. Exactly three
years ago, on the day that Putin invaded, I predicted the end of
RUBIS. I predicted the fact that we are going to move into a world
which looks very much like the terrible world outlawed by George
Orwell in 1984, in which there are great, permanent blocs of the
world. He outlined Oceania, which is ourselves and America; Eurasia,
which is, essentially, an enlarged Soviet Union; with an uneasy
southern hemisphere. And it’s something like that.
“We now have the combined power of Russia and China, we have the
so-called BRICS, with India, with South Africa, with Brazil. We have
the Anglosphere, all now in extraordinary competition with one
another. We’ve moved back from that world of the United Nations, into
something like 19th century great power politics…. We’re back in the
world of Palmerston.”
Is the intention by the British Empire to keep the world divided by
“great power” blocs, who are constantly at odds with one another in a
new, 21st Century “Great Game”?
That is not how we view a “multipolar” world order, which would be
more correctly identified as “polyphonic,” where nations work together
for the common good of each other, and whereby a new, security and
development architecture can be established among equal, sovereign
nation-states. That coheres with Chinese President Xi Jinping’s Global
Security Initiative, Global Development Initiative, and Global
Civilization Initiative, along with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s
proposal for a joint European security architecture in a speech he
gave to the Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB) on Feb. 27th.
The old order is collapsing, but let us not collapse with it.
