# [#]John, I wanted to share my thoughts with you following Tuesday night’s joint session address.
The reality is that folks across WA-03, and across the country, are facing challenges – whether it’s the costs of groceries and childcare that remain too high, or struggling to run a family farm or small business.
The way to address these challenges is not by fostering hyperpartisanship or extremism, nor is it by executive action and resulting litigation. What we need now more than ever is good-faith efforts to find common ground, and meaningful bipartisan work by Congress.
I’ve heard from you at home in the district, and in our online outreach: above all, our communities want the petty political fights to end, and they want leaders who stand up for our democratic institutions and get things done.
That’s what I’ve always done, and that’s what I’ll continue to do, John.
We have a lot of work ahead of us. From preventing a government shutdown, to supporting Ukraine, expanding opportunities in skilled trades, bringing down the costs of energy and housing, and more – my priorities remain clear.
I’m grateful to have you on our team as we keep forging ahead.
– Marie
