SEND A NOTE

As the medical director of Planned Parenthood Southeast, I'm proud to work with so many incredible people who dedicate their careers to serving others. Providers at Planned Parenthood health centers deliver a full range of care to patients every single day, with the kind of empathy and respect we all deserve.

Monday is Abortion Provider Appreciation Day, and I need your help. I want to make sure everyone who provides abortion care at a Planned Parenthood health center hears how much they are valued.

Will you send a note to say thanks?

Nobody at Planned Parenthood comes to this work by accident. The people I work with here in Georgia and the committed abortion providers at health centers across the country are highly trained in the full spectrum of reproductive health care. They make sure every patient gets the care that's right for them.

These are the words we live by: “Care, no matter what.” The care we provide too often includes difficult conversations with patients about restrictions on access to abortion, and how the best choice for a patient might be blocked by harmful state laws.

We're here every day to serve our community — no matter their race, zip code, or income level. No matter what attacks lawmakers lob at us or efforts politicians make to criminalize our work, we never back down — because we care about patients.

That work doesn't stop when we leave the health centers at night. We spend our time thinking about our patients long after they've left to go home. When I meet patients, they want to be seen and heard — we all do. I carry their stories with me.

At a time when there are so many dangerous threats and barriers to care — like restrictions on medication abortion and attacks on birth control — our stories and our voices matter. It's so important and so meaningful to hear from patients and supporters. Even just a quick word of thanks can mean a lot.

Will you let Planned Parenthood health center staff know you appreciate what they do?

Thank you,

Dr. Megan Cohen, Medical Director
Planned Parenthood Southeast
