Dear John,
Medicaid is a lifeline for millions of autistic people and their family members. In addition to basic health care, it provides vital access to specialists who diagnose autism, life-changing therapies (such as speech, occupational, physical), and lifespan services like home or direct support, long-term care, respite, adult day services, employment supports, assistive technology, and so much more. These are services that autistic children, adults, and families rely on every day.
Congress is currently considering significant cuts, and the autism community must ACT NOW to protect Medicaid!
Medicaid funding is needed in order to end waitlists and make sure more health care providers are accessible to autistic people. Cuts to Medicaid could not only put essential healthcare out of reach for many but also disrupt support services that help individuals with autism thrive.
Members of Congress need to hear from you – tell them that cuts to Medicaid should be off the table.
The time to act is now. Thank you in advance for taking action with us!
Sincerely,
David Sitcovsky
Vice President of Advocacy
