With a harmful new anti-voter bill moving through the legislature, today is a big deadline for the Georgia General Assembly: “Crossover Day.”

For a bill to pass during this current legislative session, it needs to get through either the state house or state senate and “cross over” to the other chamber by March 6.

So if we stop the Early Vote Erosion Act (House Bill 397) by tonight, we could keep it from becoming law this year. But we’d still need to stay vigilant in case anti-voter legislators find another way to work its damaging provisions into other legislation.

With Crossover Day here, extremists are racing to pass the Early Vote Erosion Act, which would worsen unequal access to the ballot box, chip away at voting rights, and likely suppress turnout in local elections.

So we’re fighting back. Can you make a donation of any amount before midnight to help protect the freedom to vote from threats like the proposed Early Vote Erosion Act in Georgia?

Grassroots donations from activists like you help make all of our work possible, including mobilizing Georgians to speak out against harmful legislation, lobbying in the General Assembly, and raising the alarm about threats to voting rights.

And this bill is a prime example of the threats we must fight back against.

By allowing local governments to opt out of offering early voting on Saturdays for municipal elections, the Early Vote Erosion Act would make it harder for working people and rural voters to make their voices heard.

That is an attack on fairness and equal participation in our democracy. And we will keep doing everything we can to prevent it from becoming law. But we’re counting on this team’s support.

Please pitch in before tonight’s deadline to help stop anti-voter legislation and defend free and fair elections.
