This is truly disgusting behavior, John.
Far too many Democrats want to act like they are better than Trump, but when the going gets tough, they fall in line with him.
10 Democrats just voted to censure Rep. Al Green for interrupting Trump’s hate-filled speech to the joint session of Congress this Tuesday. Stand with Rep. Al Green by adding your name to our letter thanking him for his activism.
Shame on the 10 Democrats who fell in line with Republicans and effectively censured Rep. Al Green. Here are their names:
Rep. Ami Bera of California Rep. Jim Costa of California Rep. Ed Case of Hawaii Rep. Laura Gillen of New York
Rep. Tom Suozzi of New York Rep. Jim Himes of Connecticut Rep. Chrissy Houlahan of Pennsylvania Rep. Marcy Kaptur of Ohio
Rep. Jared Moskowitz of Florida
Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington

Y’all should be ashamed of yourselves. 🤦🏾♂️
This is a tale as old as time. Freedom of speech and the right to protest have never TRULY existed for Black people. White insurrectionists can pull a Jan. 6 and leave with a slap on the wrist (if that). But Rep. Al Green is censured for peacefully protesting... okay. 🙄
If we can’t take it to the streets, and we can’t take it to official channels, where do we go from here?
What do fascism and authoritarianism look like? It’s the slow erasure of the right to dissent. It’s any and all opposition getting wiped out. Shame on the 10 Democrats who voted to further Trump’s agenda of hate and for silencing brave advocates for speaking out against this administration’s incompetent dismantling of our democratic institutions.
To Rep. Al Green: You said what you said, and we are in solidarity with you!
Black people have always been and always will be at the forefront of revolution. As a radical Black liberation organization, we do everything in our power to uplift and protect Black folks who speak up and fight the good fight.
Can you support protect radical Black advocates across the globe by adding your name to our thank you letter supporting Rep. Al Green?
In solidarity,
Black Lives Matter
Our grassroots movement is pushing for Black liberation every single day. We are striving to create a world where Black people do so much more than just survive. It’s time we thrive.
As an organization one of our biggest hurdles is consistency.
A recurring contribution of anything you can afford goes a long way as we plan for the months, years, and even decades ahead. This is the most effective way for small-dollar donors (like you) to power our Black liberation work.
Will you make a recurring contribution of $5 or more today so that we can keep building momentum for our movement?
