John,

As we begin Women’s History Month, we come together to reflect on the remarkable women who have shaped our past and continue to inspire us today. From trailblazing activists to everyday leaders, women have been at the heart of Virginia’s history, breaking barriers, working toward justice, and paving the way for generations after them.

However, as we celebrate our achievements, we must also acknowledge that our work for women’s rights and equality is far from over.

In states across the country, lawmakers have turned back the clocks on women’s rights – stripping them of bodily autonomy and enacting laws to punish women for seeking reproductive healthcare. I never imagined a world in which my three daughters would grow up having less bodily autonomy than I had.

Virginia is the only state in the South that hasn’t rolled back restrictions on reproductive freedom after the Dobbs decision. As Governor, I will not allow Virginia to go backward – I will work every day to protect women’s reproductive healthcare.

But we still have a long way to go. Together, we can build a future where every woman has the freedom, opportunity, and support she deserves — and I hope you will join me in this campaign.
