The San Diego LOSSAN Rail Realignment (SDLRR) is an opportunity for a landmark infrastructure project addressing one of our region’s most pressing challenges. As climate change accelerates sea level rise, the intensity of storms, and increases coastal flooding and bluff erosion, we need a sustainable solution to protect this critical rail corridor. SDLRR’s success is reliant on strong partnerships at all levels—local, state, and federal. Last Saturday, I joined State Senator Catherine Blakespear, Carlsbad Mayor Pro Tem Priya Bhat-Patel, and representatives from SANDAG and North County Transit District to give California Senator Adam Schiff a firsthand look at the urgent need to preserve this vital transportation link.
