Earlier this week, I listened as Donald Trump addressed Congress and the nation. And before you ask – no, he did not explain how he plans to lower costs for everyday Americans.

Instead, he stood at the podium for over an hour and a half and lied – over and over again – about his so-called "progress" while hardworking people suffer under his and Elon Musk’s disastrous leadership.

The only thing that Trump and Musk have accomplished is making life harder for the American people. Harder for children, our Veterans, working families, the disabled, and our elders. It is because of them that thousands of workers have lost their jobs, prices are surging, health insurance for Americans (Medicaid) and Social Security are under attack, and putting food on the table is getting significantly more expensive.

They do not care if you get sick, injured, go hungry, or can’t pay your bills. And the silence from my GOP colleagues is deafening. They are afraid to speak up and they know this is all wrong.

Democrats are doing everything we can to fight back – and we need you with us, John. We have to show Trump and his MAGA allies we are not powerless, and that we will not give up.
