President Trump and Elon Musk are wreaking havoc in our nation’s capital. It is a mess, and the American people deserve better.

You have probably seen that last week, Elon Musk sent an email to federal workers instructing them to report their work from the past week, warning that failing to respond would be considered a resignation. This poorly thought-out directive is dumb, dangerous, and the result of giving access to inept and inexperienced people. A log sent through unclassified channels could compromise our national security, law enforcement, and other highly sensitive matters, which would put our public safety at risk.

The effects of President Trump and Elon Musk are being felt all across the country. The Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) — a program that provides loans and grants in rural areas for energy efficiency upgrades and renewable energy development — has been halted under the funding freeze. This freeze is holding up over $3.7 million for my district. President Trump has repeatedly promised to halve electricity costs, yet by hampering this program, his administration is making it even harder to achieve this goal for rural America.
