The Republican-controlled House of Representatives just voted to censure Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) for his act of civil disobedience during President Donald Trump’s speech this week.
Democrats, led by the Black Caucus and Progressive Caucus, gathered around Green and sang "We Shall Overcome." Before the vote, Al Green said that he had the "privilege of going to jail" with the late Rep. John Lewis of Georgia, the civil rights icon who Green said taught him the importance of peaceful protest. "So I'm not angry with the speaker. I'm not angry with the officers. I'm not upset with the members who are going to bring the motions or resolution to sanction. I will suffer the consequences."
The consequences of standing up to Trump shouldn’t be censure. It should be the public saying THANK YOU.

wearing a t-shirt that says "NO KINGS LIVE HERE."
Thanks for being a bold progressive.
