Friend,
Our successes in 2018 proved that as Georgia Democrats, we must unapologetically embrace and fight for the core values of our party and reject the old “conventional wisdom” that had previous candidates running right up the middle, trying to make everyone happy, but not exciting anyone. The extraordinary candidate at the top of the 2018 ticket taught us what it really takes to get out the vote and what it will take to win in 2020.
Next year, Georgia Democrats will again face a Republican opponent who will use every effort in the GOP voter suppression handbook to get elected, but we’ll also have a Democrat with a spine of steel who has stepped forward and is ready to win the fight for the progressive principles we believe in. That candidate is Teresa Tomlinson.
Join me as one of Teresa’s grassroots supporters by pledging a $5, $10, or $20.20 donation every month between now and Election Day 2020.
As a proud gay man and an attorney specializing in family law issues facing our LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters, I know what it means to be on the front lines of the progressive movement.
The very first time I met Teresa I saw why the people of Columbus, Georgia twice elected her to run their city, and why her executive experience running a big city is exactly what we need to take on David Perdue next year.
Teresa was speaking about her decades-long fight for equality and how that fight continues to this day. She talked about being in the trenches with the LGBTQ+ community long before it was popular, the amazing progress we’ve achieved, and how many more battles there are still to win in order to achieve equality for all people.
It’s clear that when Teresa sees injustice, she doesn’t stop fighting to change it no matter the odds against her. We need that kind of leadership in the U.S. Senate.
Teresa Tomlinson is going to beat David Perdue next year because she’s going to run as a bold progressive with a clear message who is supported by a grassroots movement. None of this is new to Mayor Tomlinson. She’s battle-tested and ready to go toe-to-toe with David Perdue and the millions of dollars his special interest cronies will pour into our state to stop us.
But they can’t stop all of us. That’s why I’m asking you to join me and invest in this campaign today with a monthly grassroots contribution of $3, $5, or $10.
Like me, I know you’re ready to send Perdue packing - we can do it, but only if we work together.
I hope you’ll join me,
Dennis Collard
