On Tuesday, Trump stood before the nation and lied through his teeth. He painted a picture of an America that doesn’t exist — one where he’s somehow working for everyday Americans instead of dismantling critical programs, handing the country over to billionaires like Elon Musk, and pushing his extremist agenda on all of us.
He declared that “the days of unelected bureaucrats are over.” Meanwhile, Co-President Musk — who has never been elected to anything — is running the show. He’s shutting down federal agencies, hijacking government infrastructure, and deciding who gets to keep their job in the federal government.
Trump claims the economy is booming, but inflation is rising again. He says he’s fighting for working people, but he’s gutting Social Security and Medicaid to pay for $4.5 trillion in tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy. He brags about his strength on the world stage, but our closest allies are turning their backs while he cozies up to dictators.
We don’t have the luxury of waiting. The fight for our democracy is happening right now.
