Tina for Oregon

John,

Earlier this week, Governor Kotek brought together affordable housing advocates, homebuilders, and local businesses to help address Oregon’s housing crisis. Everyone joined to highlight Governor Kotek’s latest bill, HB 2138, which would legalize more housing across the state, cut red tape, and expand incentives for affordable and accessible housing statewide.

The Oregon Home Builders Association praised the initiative, saying, "Governor Kotek is making it easier to build those homes."

“[Advocacy groups] added that the bill will help people live closer to essential services by removing local building barriers.”

“Governor Kotek’s bill builds on Bend’s success expanding support for cottage clusters, ADUs and small-scale developments across the state.”

Governor Kotek’s bill to expand middle housing will have an immediate impact on Oregonians, like Hillary Gray, a retired nurse from Portland, who spoke at Monday’s press conference.

HB 2138 is a key part of Governor Kotek’s housing plan for Oregonians. This bill helps everyone live closer to schools, stores, parks, and their jobs. It will save families money and is good for the climate.

This bill will make major strides to address the housing crisis. We need it passed ASAP. Will you add your name to show your support for building more affordable housing in Oregon?
