John,
Donald Trump and Elon Musk are dismantling the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to benefit fossil fuel corporations.
Already the administration has fired 600 employees and placed another 200 employees on leave due to Musk’s DOGE initiative.1 Last week, Donald Trump said he wanted to cut 65% of employees from the EPA. The administration later clarified that it plans to cut 65% of EPA funding―which would still cause thousands of layoffs and directly impact the EPA’s ability to mitigate the harms of air and water pollution in our communities.2
Mary Grant, Water Program Director at Food & Water Watch responded to Trump’s 65% cut to the EPA, saying:3
“Such a cut would have a devastating impact on the critical clean water and environmental programs that communities rely on each year to fix broken drinking water systems, stop sewage spills and clean up contaminated sites. Even a cut half the size of Trump’s shocking assertion would have immediate and stark repercussions on the health and welfare of people from coast to coast.”
Add your name to tell Congress to stand up to Trump and Musk and protect the Environmental Protection Agency from being dismantled.

Even before Lee Zeldin was confirmed to lead the EPA (despite having no background in environmental policy), Trump was stacking the EPA with officials who had previously served as lawyers and lobbyists for oil, gas, and chemical companies.4
According to Jen Duggan, Executive Director of the Environmental Integrity Project:
“It’s alarming to see former industry lobbyists and attorneys who, until recently, were paid by their clients to weaken pollution standards, nominated to high-ranking positions at E.P.A. where they will have the power to undermine regulations meant to protect the public from these same industries.”
We already have the technology to create enough clean power to end our reliance on fossil fuels. Musk and Trump are acting as instruments of the fossil fuel billionaires who are trying to wrest still more profit, no matter the cost (and then reward their anti-climate buddies with more tax breaks to boot!). Instead of clinging to dirty energy, we should use the technology we have to create jobs and grow the economy.
Join us in calling on Congress to protect the EPA today!
Thank you for all you do,
