Dear friend,

It seems like since Donald Trump was sworn in, Republicans have been on a mission to attack the most vulnerable. One of their targets has been our youth.

As a child I grew up on the very program Republicans are attacking claiming kids are “sponging off of”. Free and reduced lunch programs were what got me through my years in school.

It has always been my core mission to build a thriving Virginia where everyone has a fair shot at success. I understand the challenges working families face and know they do not have time to waste because I lived it. No child should have a different path to life because of their zipcode or access to means.
