[link removed] [[link removed]] I wanted to send you a quick note about President Trump’s address to Congress and what it means for families across Kansas.
Earlier this week, the President spoke to Members of Congress and the American people for the first time since the beginning of his term. As for the speech itself, it was divisive, partisan, and unserious — but I can’t say it was surprising.
Instead of addressing the issues most important to regular families, like the rising cost of living, the President used the evening to pander to his extremist allies. Throughout the night, I heard a whole lot of bluster, but not one realistic solution.
He never laid out a plan to bring down costs. He never mentioned a blueprint to protect and expand affordable health care. And I didn’t hear a single promise to defend Social Security.
It is clear that the President and his Republican allies are content with ignoring the needs of Kansas families. Instead of lowering costs, the President is raising them with his reckless tariffs. And instead of fixing problems, he’s just creating new ones.
Listen, I’m all for making our government more efficient, but I will always push back when the President threatens the livelihoods of the American people — which is why I’m reaching out directly to you.
In a competitive district like KS-03, Republicans are working around the clock to replace me with yet another extremist. So please, help me get our government back on track and flip the House blue next year by chipping in today.
