Did you see it, John? While my bill to make English the official language of the United States has been pending in the Senate, President Trump stepped in and just got it done by signing an Executive Order! Americans should not be ashamed of our culture, and I am grateful to President Trump for his resolute action on this issue. But I still want to know if you agree... Should English be our official language? Take my survey below and let me know! -Senator Moreno From: Sen. Bernie Moreno Date: Thursday, February 20, 2025 To: [email protected] Subject: English the official language? John, I recently introduced a bill in the U.S. Senate that would finally declare English as the official language of the United States. It’s just common sense–but the radical left had a meltdown, calling me a racist and a bigot. But as one of the only naturalized citizens serving in the U.S. Senate, I am here to tell you Americans don’t have to be ashamed of our culture. When I moved here legally with my family from Colombia at age five, I didn’t speak a word of English. But I was determined to master the language because it was clear to me that this was the whole reason my family came here—to become Americans. The proudest moment of my life was becoming an American citizen at age 18, a process that showed me just how foundational the English language is to the American way of life. It’s long past time that we enshrine this simple fact into law. Where do you stand, John? Do you think it’s important that we make English the official language of the United States? YES, IT’S IMPORTANT → DOESN’T MATTER → Please weigh in as the Senate debates this issue. Thank you! Senator Bernie Moreno FOLLOW BERNIE ON SOCIAL MEDIA |
