As Co-Chair of Equality PAC and the most senior LGBTQ Member of the House of Representatives, I am proud to support Phil Gardner for Congress in Washington’s 10th Congressional District.

Having served as the first openly gay mayor of a major US city (Providence, Rhode Island), I know how important LGBTQ representation is in elected office. But I also know how critical it is that we elect qualified young people who are ready to step up and lead.

I believe Phil Gardner is the natural fit to continue Congressman Heck’s work and to speak truth to power in Washington.
