1) Our Tax Cut Victory Alliance Is Officially Launched

Unleash Prosperity co-founders Stephen Moore, Dr. Arthur Laffer and Steve Forbestoday launched ([link removed]) the Tax Cut Victory Alliance(TCVA) – a coalition of taxpayer groups, business groups, state organizations, conservative leaders, and activists across the country – who’ve joined together in a national campaign to make the 2017 Trump Tax Cuts permanent.

As part of this initiative, the TCVA (a project of Unleash Prosperity affiliate 501 (c) (4) Unleash Prosperity Now) is calling on Congress to urgently pass necessary tax measures within the first 100 days of the new Administration. This is to ensure they are timely enough to positively impact economic growth and eliminate future uncertainty related to family incomes and capital investment decisions.

Key priorities of the TCVA include:
* Passing legislation making the 2017 tax cuts permanent within 100 days of the new administration.
* Protecting all of the 2017 reductions in tax rates on individuals, families, small businesses, and employers.
* Ensuring business tax rates remain low and potentially lowering them further to 15 percent.
* Securing capital expensing provisions to encourage greater business investment growth.
* Promoting the true economic impact of the tax cuts rather than using failed JTC/CBO scoring projections.

2) Voters Favor Keeping the Trump Tax Cuts by 40 Points

Progressives call the Trump tax plan a tax cut for millionaires and billionaires. Most Americans, fortunately, reject that attack.

A new McLaughlin poll for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce shows broad support for extending the Trump tax cuts, which are due to expire on December 31, 2025.
* By 61%-20%, voters support the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
* But only 51% are aware the tax cuts will expire.
* 75% support permanently restoring R&D investment deductions.
* 73% support making full capital expensing permanent.
* 73% think jobs will be lost, prices will go up, and businesses will be closed if taxes go up.

We ask again: what are conservatives waiting for??

3) Trump: "Goodbye, Mr. Chips Act"

The so-called CHIPS Act was one of the great corporate welfare boondoggles of all time. No one fought against it and exposed its failures more than we did. Alas, many Republicans bought into the "industrial policy" swindle.

We were thrilled when President Trump came out swinging against it:

"Your CHIPS Act is a horrible, horrible thing. We give hundreds of billions of dollars and it doesn't mean a thing."

Semafor's Technology newsletter predicts that Trump's attack makes it "more likely that the $52 billion CHIPS Act, aimed at bringing semiconductor manufacturing back to the US, is doomed."

Instead, Trump wants to create new ways to make next-generation semiconductors in the U.S. This week, he announced that Taiwan Semiconductor will invest $100 billion in a new Arizona plant.

It's an iron law of economics and politics: the more that the government subsidizes an industry, the more money it loses.

4) Michael Mann's Big Climate Change Payday Reversed on Appeal

In one of the most closely watched climate change lawsuits of all time, National Review columnist Mark Steyn was ordered by a DC jury (of course) to pay world-famous climate alarmist Michael Mann of Penn State University $1 million in punitive damages for defamation. Steyn had referred to Mann as "the man behind the fraudulent climate-change 'hockey-stick' graph." That graph WAS far from scientific.

Now the damage award has been shrunk by the D.C. Superior Court from $1 million to $5,000. The original verdict was all about politics and the progressive left's penchant to punish climate change skeptics.

Mark was a longtime guest host for Rush Limbaugh and - according to Mann's lawyer - it was necessary to send a message not to mess with "climate scientists". So, the jury topped that $1 in nominal damages with one million dollars in punitive. Predictably, the mainstream media and climate cultists went gaga over it whilst anyone with a passing acquaintance of the law understood this award would not stand up.

And thankfully, it didn't.

5) At Least SOMEONE Still Believes in Free Trade

Javier Milei gives the world a well-needed lesson on the virtues of the freedom to trade:

We need to give back to Argentines the freedom to trade with whomever they wish, so that goods and services can enter the local market and everyone can freely buy better quality products at a better price. For decades, under the premise of protecting a handful of jobs, the cost of living was deliberately made more expensive for millions of Argentines. In many cases, even forcing them to purchase goods of dubious quality at completely distorted prices. It is not fair that only those who can afford a trip abroad can buy what they want at international prices. It has to be for everyone. Opening markets will also open the doors of the world to Argentine companies so that they can sell our products to 8 billion people, in an international context where what Argentina has to offer will be in great demand.
