We are at a crucial moment in our nation's democracy, and we need to act collectively. 

This week, Rep. Richard Hudson, the National Republican Congressional Committee chair, reportedly advised House Republicans to forgo in-person town halls amid backlash over the severe cuts to federal funding. His suggestion comes as Republicans continue to hide rather than listen to the legitimate concerns about the ongoing deep federal funding cuts spearheaded by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). 

This comes even as some DOGE employees reportedly draw six-figure salaries from the agencies they are dismantling. 

But WE ARE MAKING NOISE. 

We can’t let up. Now more than ever, our democracy is at a breaking point. Let’s unite to reclaim our democracy and ensure our elected officials hear us loud and clear!

We ask of you: 

1. Contact Your Representatives: Reach out to your local representatives and demand they hold in-person town halls. If your Republican-leaning district won’t host a town hall, help organize one! We and our partners can assist you. Just reply to this email.

2. Share Your Story: Share personal experiences about how federal funding cuts have affected you or those in your community. Respond to this email if you have one, which we will share with The Union network. Your stories are fundamental in illustrating the real impact of these decisions and can rally support for change. 

Help us strengthen our local networks, engage overlooked communities, and foster a spirit of collaboration that empowers every American.
