Dear Friend, As we are celebrating International Women's Day, we reflect on the remarkable women who champion equity, diversity, and inclusion against growing challenges. In a time when DEI initiatives face unprecedented rollbacks, the National Urban League's commitment to empowering marginalized communities has never been more critical. The stark reality is sobering: Black workers are often relegated to positions with median wages of just $9.62/hour, while white workers in management roles earn $32.69/hour. For women of color, this gap is even more pronounced due to the double discrimination they face in the workplace. But thanks to your support, we're changing these statistics one woman at a time: - 114,000+ people have benefited from housing services
- 467,000+ people have received healthcare services
- 74,000+ accessed education services
- 61,000+ were empowered through workforce and entrepreneurship programs
These achievements represent year two of our D3 initiative: Defend Democracy, Demand Diversity, and Defeat Poverty. We are making inroads in all three areas, but not without hard work and challenges. Friend, I want to pause and convey our sincere gratitude for your generous support that makes these achievements possible. But urgent work lies ahead. Through our Urban Tech Jobs Program, we've enrolled 564 participants, with 487 in training programs and a 73% completion rate. Behind these numbers are real women gaining essential skills in technology, construction, healthcare, and entrepreneurship—transforming not just their own economic futures but strengthening their families and communities. As you reflect on the powerful impact of women advocating for change this month, please consider renewing your support of the National Urban League. Your generosity empowers us to defend against discrimination while creating tangible pathways to economic opportunity for women of color. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to our shared mission. With gratitude, Marc H. Morial President and Chief Executive Officer P.S.: Looking for other ways to make an impact?
