TELL U.S. SENATE: VOTE NO ON MARTIN MAKARY

Weaponizing the FDA is one of the avenues Trump could use to effectively ban abortion nationwide—without signing a bill from Congress.

The FDA plays a critical role in reproductive health care by regulating access to safe and effective medications, including birth control and medication abortion.

Trump plans to use Makary to implement Project 2025, which explicitly calls for revoking FDA approval of mifepristone. Mifepristone—a safe and effective (safer than Tylenol!) pill—is used in more than half of all abortion care nationwide, as well as for managing miscarriages.

Urge the U.S. Senate to vote NO on Martin Makary. Don't let the Trump administration weaponize the FDA.

You might remember that anti-abortion groups have already attempted to revoke the FDA's 20+ year approval of mifepristone. Their lawsuit went all the way to the Supreme Court last year, but was sent back down for the federal district courts to handle.

Let's call it what it is: a bogus legal case. But it's always been the anti-abortion extremist playbook to use whatever legal tools they have to quietly strip away our access to abortion care. Attacking and abusing the FDA from within is next on their list.

If confirmed as FDA Commissioner, Martin Makary could play a leading role in banning abortion nationwide—but together we can fight back and make sure our senators don't confirm his nomination.
