Dear Friends — Hurricane Season is fast approaching on June 1. We know that many of you are looking forward to getting back to work and returning to life as normal, but we have to stay vigilant.  

Due to COVID-19, it is important now more than ever that residents are prepared for hurricane season. Get all the info you need to stay safe and stay prepared here!

If the threat of an imminent hurricane doesn't require a mandatory evacuation — you'll need to decide whether to leave or shelter in place. While we're recovering from COVID-19, there are some extra materials you should gather this year to make sure you can stay safe and stay healthy:
Hopefully it won't come to this, but if a mandatory evacuation order is issued during the COVID-19 pandemic — you must leave. The immediate threat to life from a major hurricane is more severe than the potential of virus exposure.

We know our residents are concerned about exposing themselves to COVID-19 during evacuation — but, there are ways to protect yourself. To the greatest extent possible, do the following while evacuated:
  • Practice social distancing — stay at least 6 feet away from other people
  • Wear face coverings
  • Wash your hands often and use hand sanitizer during transit
  • Disinfect high-touch surfaces regularly
