AZ Dems
Friend,

Navajo and Apache activists have released a thank you to donors for helping their communities continue the important work of reaching and registering Native voters. They also posted an update on their program and their incredible progress to Daily Kos.

If you have yet to donate to help empower Arizona’s Native communities, you can do so by clicking here.

Here are some highlights from their statement, demonstrating how YOUR donations are making a difference.

  • “With seven field organizers on the ground, we have the only serious campaign on the Navajo Reservation – the size of West Virginia – and the two major Apache Reservations – the size of Connecticut.”
  • “We recently recruited more than 50 Native precinct committee members from the five reservation counties in Northeast Arizona.”
  • “We are working to ensure the Natives receive their ballots in the mail, so they can vote safely and in strong numbers despite the risk of the virus.”
  • “The Republican Legislature blocked attempts to send mail ballots to everyone, but the county recorders sent applications for mail ballots to every voter and we are contacting all the Reservation voters to make sure they return their applications.”
  • “In addition to phone calls and texts, we have purchased Navajo and Apache language spots on the Reservation radio stations.”
  • “After we spend several weeks on the mail ballot requests, we will turn to voter registration. We have cataloged the residents of the White Mountain Reservation so we know who lives there and is not registered.”
While all of this work is being carried out, Native activists are also focused on relief work for the hardest-hit areas affected by COVID-19:
  • “Our field organizers and volunteers spend about a third of their time helping the community, assisting the elderly in requesting food boxes, purchasing cleaning supplies, making emergency runs to communities without water and finding masks and gowns for the hospitals.”
Through it all, Native activists are determined to defeat Trump, “a particular foe of Native Americans.” As they press forward in their mission, we stand beside them, assisting them with the resources and infrastructure they need to be successful.

Your donations are having a real impact in Arizona’s Native communities, but this is just the beginning. As we look to our next phase and work toward voter registrations, we need your continued support.

It costs $7 to register one voter. Will you donate $7 or more to help us register Native voters so their voices can be heard?

Donate $7 to register 1 new voter
Donate $21 to register 3 new voters
Donate $70 to register 10 new voters
Donate $140 to register 20 new voters
Donate $210 to register 30 new voters
Donate other amount

Thank you so much for helping us empower Native voters.
