Musk and his unappointed and unaccountable DOGE brogrammers are attacking Social Security — working in secret to plunder the 89 year old system that has kept millions of older Americans out of poverty and allowed them to retire with dignity.
Musk is hoping we won’t notice, or won’t care, he is seeking to return America to the Gilded Age when over 99% of people in this country toiled ceaselessly to benefit the top 0.1% like himself.
At the same time, Trump announced an actual Ponzi scheme: a “strategic crypto reserve” that boosts select cryptocurrencies that he and his cronies already bought low. This grift inflates the price so that MAGA can sell out high, leaving us holding the bag.
This has to stop. Congress must step in and protect retirement security, dignity for working people, and our economy.
Trump—who gave Musk’s work a full throated endorsement in his address to Congress—and Elon don’t care about working people. They never have. They were handed success on a silver platter and given hundreds of chances to fail and be bailed out over and over again.
We can’t afford to let these Robber Barons steal from us any longer.
