Friends,
As Attorney General, it’s my job to ensure that Washingtonians are protected.
I’m so proud of the incredible work my team is doing. In the past four weeks, we:
-
Completed a lengthy investigation into the nation’s largest subprime auto financing company’s lending and auto servicing practices. Now they will pay as much as $6.4 million to Washingtonians in the form of cash relief and loan forgiveness.
-
Joined with 23 other attorneys general urging Congress to fix the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) to ensure funds are distributed fairly and equitably, and not just benefiting billion-dollar businesses.
-
Enforced the Governor's moratorium on evictions against a corporate property management company that unlawfully issued eviction notices to Tacoma tenants. The out-of-state company must now pay nearly $300,000 directly to tenants in the form of refunds, payments and rent forgiveness.
-
Filed a Clean Water Act lawsuit against two companies for discharging illegal levels of pollutants into creeks flowing into the Kettle River in Okanogan County. The companies could face millions of dollars in penalties for violating the law.
-
Spearheaded a coalition of 24 attorneys general urging the U.S. Senate to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act which expired over a year ago. The risk to women in danger of domestic violence has risen sharply during the isolation and uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s time for the Senate to act.
These are a few examples of the work my office is carrying out for Washingtonians in every part of our state. With so much at stake, we can’t let up.
I am committed to continuing this crucial work. But, I need grassroots supporters like you to ensure we can meet our campaign goals.
We still need to raise $15,500 to meet our May fundraising goal and we only have until Sunday at midnight.
Donating $10 or even just $5 will go a long way towards building the movement we need to keep up this fight.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will process immediately by clicking a button below. Otherwise, you will be redirected to a donation page.
Thank you for your support tonight. I’ll let you know how things look tomorrow —
Bob
Our top priority is slowing the spread of COVID-19. Consequently, we canceled all in-person campaign events for the foreseeable future and are relying on digital outreach. We appreciate your support during this challenging time.
