John: When I decided to run for Lieutenant Governor, the first thing people asked me was “Why are you running?” What I don’t often get asked now that I’m an elected official is why I do what I do — even when it’s hard.
My why is the hard working people I grew up with in Mon Valley — factory workers, teachers, and who are the lifeblood of our state.
My why is my mom and dad — a hairdresser and a union bus driver I watched juggle bills, putting food on the table, and raising a family.
My why is my wife Blayre and my daughter Harper who both deserve access to reproductive healthcare and bodily autonomy.
My why is the people of Pennsylvania.
Knowing my why is what gets me up in the morning and what motivates me to fight for the people of Pennsylvania every day.
Maybe your why is like mine. You’re worried about your parents' social security or your neighbor’s Medicare. You care about people.
If so, I hope you’ll consider pitching in today. I’m on the frontlines standing up to the Trump regime and as his administration goes all in to attack federal jobs, DEI initiatives, environmental protections, and healthcare access, I could use all the help I can get:
