Last night, we saw it with our own eyes, John.

The president took the stage to unleash a vision for America that we cannot allow to become reality.

He called it "strength." I call it what it is: cruelty. A full-scale assault on everything we hold dear.

Trump vowed to hand over our public lands to Big Oil, chanting "drill, baby, drill" like he was leading a fossil fuel pep rally. He doubled down on his racist, fearmongering attacks on migrants and the LGBTQ community. He took aim at Social Security and bragged about his massive tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy — because in Trump’s America, billionaires get handouts while working families get scraps.

And when people pushed back, he smirked. Dared them to stop him.

But someone did. Representative Al Green from Texas stood up and called Trump out for what he is: illegitimate. Dangerous. A man with no mandate to gut Medicaid or sell out our democracy to the highest bidder. And for that, he was escorted out of the chamber by the Sergeant at Arms — the first time in recent history a member was expelled from a joint address to Congress.

Republicans laughed. They mocked him as they took him away.

But that disruption? That’s the energy we need from every single Democrat — and every Republican, for that matter. We can’t let this become the new normal. We cannot be silent while the Orange Man lays the groundwork to dismantle our democracy.

We have to fight back by organizing and building power from the ground up. The strongest firewall against Trump’s reckless agenda starts in our own communities. We have to take back city councils, school boards, and state legislatures. We have to elect leaders who will hold the line. And then, we have to fight like hell to flip the House in 2026.

The road ahead won’t be easy — we’re up against Big Oil billionaires and a Republican machine willing to rig the rules to keep power. But if we stay united, there is no limit to what we can do.
