James, last night, Trump showed why he is such an existential threat to our country. He repeated OUTLANDISH lies about Social Security, celebrated ‘drill, baby, drill,’ championed trillions in tax cuts for the rich, and put America’s Oligarchy on full display.

In response, Bernie said something that he’s NEVER said before:

"My friends, we are no longer moving toward an oligarchy. We are living IN an oligarchic society… President Trump has been creating what I would call a parallel universe for his supporters – a set of ideas that either have NO basis in reality or, in the great scheme of things, are nowhere near the most important concerns of the American people."

Most importantly, we cannot wait for the system to change itself. Nor can we sit around waiting for Trump and his followers to suddenly wake up and see that they’ve been duped. We need to fight back, and expose his lies in an irrefutable way.

James, we know it may feel like opposition is hopeless. Republicans have a trifecta of power, and the blitzkrieg of executive orders, trade wars, billionaire tax breaks, and federal aid cuts can be overwhelming. But we have already proven that Trump and his oligarchic agenda CAN be thwarted.

• He has flip-flopped on his disastrous tariffs against Canada and Mexico, after mass-outrage from the public.
• Our pressure convinced his administration to roll back their freeze on Medicaid, Medicare, and SNAP.
• The Supreme Court just voted to reverse Trump’s $2 billion in cuts to foreign aid programs.

Trump and Musk aren’t evil masterminds or brilliant puppeteers. They’re bullies. Loud, angry, deceitful brutes, trying to take a sledgehammer to our government in order to enrich themselves and their billionaire friends.

But that means they can be stopped. They will continue to make mistake after mistake in pursuit of their agenda. And it’s up to all of us to keep calling out their lies, and calling out the complicity from spineless members of Congress — especially those in politically vulnerable districts.
