It makes me so happy to know that the team supporting Elijah is made up of individuals who are as courageous as he is. 

I’ve known Elijah for more than 20 years now, and early on after meeting him in Washington, I knew he was a transformational leader. Over the course of our relationship, I’ve seen Elijah help seniors in his district get tested for glaucoma, stand up for hurricane survivors, defend the voting rights of college students, mentor young people aspiring to careers in politics, fight for the lives and humanity of children at our southern border, and march in front of the Supreme Court for progressive values.

And now, as chairman of the Oversight Committee, Elijah is demonstrating his courage and love of country by holding this White House administration accountable and getting the answers Americans need and deserve.

I know Elijah’s leadership will help restore our country’s democratic values even as the leaders at the very top of our government try to tear them down. His courage inspires me every day.
