Measles Case Update 

PSA: There has been one confirmed case of measles reported in Montgomery County. The Montgomery County Dept. of Health & Human Services is currently investigating and completing contact tracing. The following locations and dates were listed as confirmed visit locations during the individual's infectious period: 

  • February 25-26, 2025 
    China Airlines Airport Shuttle Bus 
    Departing JFK Airport Terminal 4, arriving at North Philadelphia, Pho Ha Saigon, 757 Adams Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19120 
    From February 25 at 9:30 p.m. to February 26 at 3:15 a.m. 
      
  • February 26, 2025 
    True North Pediatrics Associates of Plymouth

    11:45 a.m. - 2:15 p.m.

It's important know your own risks and to contact a health care specialist if you believe that you or someone you know may have visited any of those locations within two hours of the infectious period.

PA House Scholarship Program  

Scholarship Opportunity! The Pennsylvania House of Representatives Scholarship Program, administered through the Foundation for Enhancing Communities, is currently accepting applications for two four-year scholarships for high school seniors. The deadline to apply is April 15, 2025. Listed below are eligibility criteria:  

  1. Graduating High School Senior 
  2. Legal Residency in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 
  3. Attendance at a PA College, university, or career school as a full-time student 
  4. Academic achievement (minimum 3.0 cumulative high school GPA) 
  5. Commitment to community and leadership qualities 
  6. Extracurricular activities 
  7. Financial need

E-Waste Recycling Collection

On Monday, March 24, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Pennsylvania Resources Council will be hosting an E-Waste Recycling Collection at Elmwood Park Zoo. Save the date now and drop off any of the accepted items, including computer monitors and printers, phones, cable boxes, laptops, video game consoles, and more! There is no recycling fee; however, registration for this event is required.

PA House Archives 

For 30 years I served my country as a Colonel in the U.S. Air Force with honor & pride. I gladly donated my uniform and other pieces of my time in service to the Pennsylvania House Archives as part of an exhibit that honors other state representatives who have served.

Women’s History Month – March

March means it’s Women’s History Month! We’re honoring the achievements women have made throughout history and continue to make today that help shape and move our country forward. Put some time aside this month to celebrate a woman you know and learn something new about women’s history! 

 

International Women’s Day – March 8   

March 8 is recognized as International Women’s Day, celebrating the accomplishments of women all across the globe and continuing to advocate for women’s rights, equality, and opportunity. It’s important to honor those who came before and continue the pursuit for those to come.

Reminder to move your clocks an hour forwards this Sunday, it’s time to switch to Daylight Saving Time.
