Last night, we experienced the longest Presidential address to Congress in history. My guest, David, was a disabled U.S. Army combat veteran who worked at the VA until he was illegally fired in February for bogus reasons.

I had hoped the President would finally tell David and the American people why firing veterans tasked with helping other veterans was good policy.

Not only did President Trump not discuss cuts to veterans' care, but he also failed to mention:

The MAGA-style campaign speech had a lot of red meat and almost no talk about making Americans’ lives better.

I reached a point where I had enough of his lies, his malice, and his division – so I left the chamber.

I could not sit there any longer and risk lending credence to the President’s agenda, which will upend the lives of Americans, hobble federal services, and make the costs of everyday goods soar.
