John, it's Hank Johnson. Before I tortured myself by watching from the comfort of my home Donald Trump's disastrous joint address to Congress, I was honored to join the State of the People yesterday afternoon to point out this truth ⬇️


Trump used last night's speech as an opportunity to bash DEI and immigrants of color, spewing an endless torrent of lies, while failing to address the massive harm and suffering he has wrought on our democracy, and upon the lives of the multitude of federal workers who he and co-President Musk have summarily fired from their jobs.


"We found hundreds of billions of dollars of fraud." ➡ He let Elon Musk fire hundreds of thousands of hardworking Americans and interrupt the disbursement of millions of dollars in SNAP, Medicaid, and Veterans benefits. 💼

"Tariffs are about making America rich again, and making America great again." ➡ Newly announced trade wars with our allies sent the Stock Market into a freefall, while costs continue to climb for consumers and their families.. 📉

"I terminated the ridiculous Green New Scam." ➡ There never was a federal Green New Deal! He froze grant payments for critical climate and environmental projects under the Inflation Reduction Act and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. 🌧️


And regardless of the lie, the GOP stood to cheer on Trump … Every. Single. Time.

John, it's clear that the MAGA movement doesn't care about the kitchen table issues Americans face—But there's still a way for folks to finally get people-first representation in Congress: Electing Democrats to replace them.

The 2026 midterms are going to be a turning point in the Trump presidency, so candidates on both sides of the aisle in the House are teeing up their campaigns now—because this work starts early.

I'm proud to be fighting MAGA extremism in AND outside of Congress, but this isn't something my team and I can do all on our own. Today, will you join our grassroots movement for progress by chipping in?
