Hi,

Are you sick and tired of Elon Musk?

Fed up with him rampaging through the federal government, slashing
everything that does anything to help everyday people?

We are too. And we're doing something about it.

Demand Progress is helping fund a lawsuit brought by a group of federal
workers accusing Musk's team of illegally connecting a server to a
sensitive government network in order to harvest information, including
the names and email accounts of federal employees.^1

This lawsuit has the potential to stop Musk in his tracks, but going up
against the president of the United States and the richest man in the
world won't be cheap or easy.

[ [link removed] ]So we're asking you today: Will you make a donation to Demand Progress
to help support our work, including supporting the lawsuit to stop Elon
Musk from illegally accessing government data?

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your
donation will go through immediately. Contributions are not
tax-deductible. ActBlue Civics Inc. is the merchant of record, and all
donations will be distributed to Demand Progress Action within 30 days.

The damage being done by Elon Musk and his so-called Department of
Government Efficiency (DOGE) minions is incalculable. His indiscriminate
cuts are threatening airline safety, public health, food safety, Social
Security, the environment, nuclear safety, public schools, and more.^2

Meanwhile, his statements about eliminating waste keep falling apart. The
DOGE website has quietly removed more than $7 billion of purported savings
after reporters exposed them as errors or lies.

Musk has repeatedly taken credit for cuts that were actually implemented
during the Biden administration. In one case, DOGE said it was responsible
for canceling a contract that had actually ended nearly 20 years ago, when
George W. Bush was president. In other cases, they confused billions with
millions, inflating their claimed savings by 1,000-fold.^3

While Musk's professed efficiency gains have been phony, the
slash-and-burn cuts to essential government functions have been very real.

With your help, we're fighting back.

The lawsuit we're backing alleges that Musk's team illegally connected an
outside server to a key network at the Office of Personnel Management
(OPM), which is essentially the HR department for the federal government
that handles key personnel functions, like the hiring and training of new
employees, managing benefits and salaries, and running background
checks.^4

Demand Progress is proud to stand with these brave public servants, and
your donations are absolutely essential to support all of our work.

work, including supporting the lawsuit to stop Elon Musk's massive power
grab?

With gratitude,
